@Medusa13
9 out of 5 is well off the scale

Re: Topic Tuesday// Burn Out // Tues. 23 Jan. 7pm - 9pm AEDT

That sounds good @Take_me_as_i_am, any tipe of how you went from 5 to 2.5

Re: Topic Tuesday// Burn Out // Tues. 23 Jan. 7pm - 9pm AEDT

@NikNik I think balance is somthing that I definitely need to work on, Unfortunately I am wired for all or nothing. So I end up trying to do everything for everyone.

Making a commitment and will be working hard on increasing social interactions.

Re: Topic Tuesday// Burn Out // Tues. 23 Jan. 7pm - 9pm AEDT

I think they probably do work, at least with concerted effort @NikNik

It's mainly the time/ capacity/ motivation (lack of) that you mentioned.

Needs lots & lots of practice...

Re: Topic Tuesday// Burn Out // Tues. 23 Jan. 7pm - 9pm AEDT

I think for me time was a factor - holding down a job - hospital visits (5 hour round trip 4 times a week) along with the emotional exhaustion and being on 24/7 suicide watch, not able to leave Mr D on his own.

Re: Topic Tuesday// Burn Out // Tues. 23 Jan. 7pm - 9pm AEDT

Does that mean they don't work for you or that you're just not finding the time / capacity / motivation to make these changes?

Hello @NikNik

My biggest thing in getting a right Balance

I am finding doing little self care things work for me , like a cuppa somewhere quiet or under the trees or on the front steps , a soak in the bath , reading a magazine

I start out ok but thenthings start creeping in again and soon you are in burnout mode again

Re: Topic Tuesday// Burn Out // Tues. 23 Jan. 7pm - 9pm AEDT

It can be hard to find balance or practice self care if you're doing it solo ๐Ÿ˜

Re: Topic Tuesday// Burn Out // Tues. 23 Jan. 7pm - 9pm AEDT

I agree with @Former-Member, the biggest barrier for me achieving self care is time and emotional exhaustion.

Re: Topic Tuesday// Burn Out // Tues. 23 Jan. 7pm - 9pm AEDT

@Jen02 completely agree

Re: Topic Tuesday// Burn Out // Tues. 23 Jan. 7pm - 9pm AEDT

I'm still trying to work out the why.. this happens but it seems that each year in November December I go very low and get very depressive and find it very hard to leave my house I lose excessive amounts of weight and find it very hard to function. The doctor has said this is my manic depressive stage which is all I can go by for now. @Shaz51 November is also my birthday which is when is starts.
