Re: Topic Tuesday // Myths and misconceptions of Schizophrenia // IN SESSION

Well we're in our final mintues for Topic Tuesday.

A big thank you to all of you for taking part tonight. There were some wonderful questions and great insights - I think we also busted some myths while we were at it!

A HHHUUGGEE thank you to @Former-Member from Mental Illness Fellowship QLD. Your time and knowledge are so appreciated as usual 🙂

Re: Topic Tuesday // Myths and misconceptions of Schizophrenia // IN SESSION

My son has suffered from schizophrenia for the past 20 years.  It's only been in the last 18 months that he has developed a gambling habit.  We have now been introduced to fast cash outlets, payday loans etc. His only source of income is a pension yet he is able to get loans!  He hates been in debt but can't seem to restrain himself.

Re: Topic Tuesday // Myths and misconceptions of Schizophrenia // IN SESSION

Thanks everyone!!!

Some great questions and myths busted tonight!!!!

It is great there are so many out there who are willing to learn so they can support their loved one, friend or family member in a really positive way.

Thank you of all of your thoughts and opinions.

Remember all it takes is one voice to start making a change. If you hear someone saying something incorrect, or stigmatising, let them know, educate them. Lets all work to change the misconceptions of people living with mental illness.

Cheers
