I am excited seriously, about your Chocolate Lily plant. It's wonderful, I am going to try & buy one for myself. I would love to grow one, I would proud to own one off them. Have you grown them for long Smc?
How do you use them in cooking other than decoration please? I have eaten flowers, also floral tea, I am very much into healthy life style, & good nutrition.
Thank you showing me your Amazing Flower! 🙂
Love & Hugs!

@Former-Member It was a burst water pipe, which went on me during the weekend.
Fixed it today and paid for it .. ouch!

@Appleblossom, we're suspicious that we've got a slow leak inside the wall between the toilet and the shower recess. The water bills are up, but not to "major rupture" level. Investigation is being delayed by our reluctance to pull off the wall lining, even though it's only masonite. We think it's the hot water pipe, and that the hot water tank is acting as a buffer against mains pressure and the major leakage that would cause.

@Former-Member, you'd probably need to source it from a native plants nursery, but a really good general nursery may have them. They're a little grassy looking plant, and don't send up a lot of flower stems, so the only time I've seen them in large numbers is when they've been growing in the wild, or in a place where they've had a chance to naturalise (i.e. go wild....). Laws about harvesting "bush tucker" from bushland reserves are hazy, and if you did any more than snack on a flower or four in passing, you might find yourself in trouble.
They like slightly moist soil and reasonable sunlight. Dappled shade seems to suit them well. I've never quite managed to establish them long term in my garden. My parents had some growing in a native garden out the front of our house in "bush soil" that they brought in. So they've always been a rare treat, and I've never had enough to do more than nibble them. I think I've heard of them being candied.
Interestingly, it wasn't the flowers that were the traditional "bush tucker" part of the plant, it was the tubers growing underneath them. Needless to say I've never yet had enough to harvest those.I keep hoping one day I will. 🙂

.... oops. Hope someone can help you out with that.
We got a later than planned start. The alarm wasn't properly set up last night, so we woke up with only 10 min to go before youngest had to be on the school bus. She made it, yay, and gets an extra canteen lunch this week as a result... yay....

Hi @Shaz51, and also any others here at present @Faith-and-Hope @Smc @Determined @Appleblossom.
How are you Shaz? I need a short break, so a hot cuppa would be ideal right now. So ... sliding into a chair at the table here and ordering a yummy spiced hot chai latte. Care to join me? I will have to gulp it down in a rush though, gotta head out shortly. So just a temporary respite.
I hope everyone is doing well? If I miss you this visit, I will come back later.
Sherry
