@Determined
Things not looking so good?

Realised yesterday that this is the first year since 2013 that Mr D has not been admitted to the psych ward. Think we might have made it through the year and his major surgery without relapse (although a few nail biting moments in relation to pain meds).

@Former-Member

That is great news for you that things are picking up. Trust things continue to go well for you especially with some improved mobility and reduced pain for Mr Darcy.

Things are unraveling quickly here for us.  Have the feeling that we are headed for another crisis 😓

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

@Determined 😞 it is so very hard at times it is seemingly relentless.

Mr D struggles with the fact he is not cured despite all the meds that he has been given. Does your darling feel the same? There has been a lot of grief for Mr D with his diagnosis.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

My darling won't  talk about it at all @Former-Member, has always refused to let me in despite me being the one consistently supporting her. I don't actually know what her thoughts and feelings are about it all. The common thread though is that is all my fault because I am angry and unreasonable all the time.  She told me again this afternoon that our marriage is over because I am angry all the time, don't know if that is what she really wants or if she is just trying to manipulate me.

@Determined .... I know

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

@Determined ... I know from what you have written just how hard it all is ... one problem after another ... trying desperately to keep things all together ...

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

On this thread it has been a rough week and more down than up. I feel quite inadequate as I see your struggles and really want to say something to help but don't want to put foot in mouth ... I do pray for you all, as I do for myself, for wisdom, that we put into place good coping mechanisms, that we can live well in spite of our partners MI and that our relationships will thrive (remembering there is more to life than partners MI).

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

@Former-Member I have often been encouraged by what you have yo say, both to me and others. I certainly appreciate your prayers,
