LADIES AND HEALTH PROFESSIONALS PLEASE OVER 18- NEED ABIT OF ADVICE

hi everyone so this is embarassing to ask but i dont have anyone else to ask
i have three questions

1. for those that are on medications im wondering does it affect your homones? good or bad? and also you cycle? good or bad?
im on antipsychotics and antidepressents but i happy to hear from any one

2. im having trouble controlling my acne despite using clearasil twice a day and also clearsil ahve invented leave on wipes so i sue those twice a day as well but it still seems to hang aroud esp during my cycle... also what do you use for cramping and aches and pains?

3. also pap smears- ive been told so many different stores - no im not comfortable talking to my gp.
ive heard many stories one being the usual you need them every 2 years after you first start activity. but ive also heard you shoudl get them until your 21... then ive heard stories that you should start at 20 even if youve never been active at all.
what is your experince with these if your comfortable talking about it?

Re: LADIES AND HEALTH PROFESSIONALS PLEASE OVER 18- NEED ABIT OF ADVICE

Hi @Former-Member I take three types of antipsychotics and have had complete cessation of my menstrual cycle. I am not really sure which medication is responsible, but I am not bothered by it. I am 38 years old and still get occasional acne, but I use specialist medicated facial scrub and it seems to work ok (I use Proactiv, expensive though). My GP told me when I first became sexually active to have pap smears every 2 years (for a normal smear) and to continue with these (even though now I am in a same sex relationship).

Hope that helps 🙂

I feel for you @Former-Member and can understand how horrible the experience would feel for you.

Sending you gentle hugs Heart

Me to.
With regards to the abuse and Pap smears. I am 38 and have never had one.
I am not on medication. But i do get bad pimples the panic attacks I have make me sweat.

thanks @Queenie

how do you control your acne @Gumtree does anything work have you found?

Re: LADIES AND HEALTH PROFESSIONALS PLEASE OVER 18- NEED ABIT OF ADVICE

I don't really.
I just get up and shower. Gentle body wash.
I mix a little lavender and eucalyptus oil in to me relax, but that's not really for the pimples.
I have come to suspect that pimples are just another part of PTSD.
What do you think?
@Queenie @Former-Member

Re: LADIES AND HEALTH PROFESSIONALS PLEASE OVER 18- NEED ABIT OF ADVICE

maybe @Gumtree

but i still think a treatment should be avalaible somewhere or a home remedy that actually works to keep them under control

Re: LADIES AND HEALTH PROFESSIONALS PLEASE OVER 18- NEED ABIT OF ADVICE

Yeah of course.
I just meant that I don't blame hormones for my pimples.
I am afraid I am just not the person to ask. I am not really into all the skincare stuff.
I am laughing at myself though.
Thanks.

I tend not to stress over what I look like.
@Former-Member
Sorry I posted a reply and didn't add your name.
I am very new at this.
