The great yoga adventure

Re: The great yoga adventure

Well I'm glad we have a male contingent in our warrior army @Ant7. I wonder where @TheVorticon is. I hope he hasn't done himself an injury trying to warrior on his skateboard! Smiley Happy

Re: The great yoga adventure

This afternoon, I went to a Slow Flow session. Only eight people so that was a bonus. You're right @Phoenix_Rising, fewer people in the room is preferable. Two guys and six girls. It seemed a lot more relaxed and the instructor walked around the room a bit helping us to perfect the poses.

We did a lot of hip opening exercises including 'the peeing dog." The instructor didn't call it that; she just described the movements. We started in a table top pose, extended our leg out the back, then bent it and turned it outwards.

We also did Warrior 1 and 2 and another Warrior pose called Humble Warrior. So I am well and truly Warriored today.

Some of the instructors tell little stories about the poses; others just give the instructions. This yoga is becoming a real highlight of my day. I just have to remember not to eat too close before the start of the session as it gets uncomfortable for me.

Re: The great yoga adventure

That is so cool @soul! Yep, that "peeing dog" pose sounds like what I did. I bet you were much more grown up than me and didn't giggle! If we can find a how-to video on it, that would be a fun challenge to do next week.

Re: The great yoga adventure

Great idea @Phoenix_Rising. I'm sure it will be very popular.

Re: The great yoga adventure

@Phoneix_Rising I haven't tried warrioring on my skateboard yet, although I'm pretty sure I ended up in a wobbly warrior 2 last time I almost slipped off!

Re: The great yoga adventure

I did it @Phoenix_Rising, I love thosse pictures, it helps me Smiley Very Happy

which one will i do today

Re: The great yoga adventure

@Shaz51 This week is warrior week...which means we have to be a warrior every day for a week. I haven't warriored yet today, but I will before the end of the day. I'm super hoping to find out what the peeing dog pose is really called and find a how-to video on it before next week. Whatever it is really called, I'm pretty sure here in Forum Land it will be the peeing dog pose. Smiley LOL

Anyway, that is next week's adventure - this week is all about being a warrior. Did you end up being a tree last week @Shaz51? I am warrioring and treeing each day now...but I think for the sake of simplicity we should keep the actual weekly challenge to only one pose. Smiley Very Happy

Re: The great yoga adventure

No need to convince me @Phoenix_Rising - I strive to be a warrior!

P.S. As you may have guessed, I am just a little bit of a "One Tree Hill" fan. 😛 "Little bit" being the understatement of the century! Smiley LOL

Re: The great yoga adventure

@Phoenix_Rising - I think it would be a good idea for me to join the "great yoga adventure," given I need to keep my fitness levels up as a mermaid! It will do wonders for my swimming abilities, I'm sure! 😉
