Re: Christian Chat

It would be so, so tough not feeling heard @DownMoreThanUp. I can hear she is experiencing a lot of pain and hurt as well, and I can absolutely see how hard therapy has been for you both... sitting with conflicting vulnerabilities can be so incredibly challenging.

I am proud of you both for trying.

It sounds like you have been doing all that you can to show up and make changes, and I am so sorry to hear that things haven't unfolded in the ways your heart hoped they would. Choosing to let go of someone we love is not easy and I can't imagine how painful this has all been for you.

Could this be a goodbye for now, but not forever?

💛

Re: Christian Chat

@AuntGlow Thanks for your caring words. i wrote this before she told me she wanted to have a cuppa. Which was a complete turn around from only the day before. Which helped, but also makes me feel very vulnerable at the same time. i do know she loves me, and i her, such are not our issues, but when is inflicting hurt to each other safe enough  to stop?

Re: Christian Chat

Thanks for your words and wisdom @Appleblossom. The pastor who I loved at my church left a while back but I know the pastoral team and one of them I especially like. It sounds really bad but the music team is what turned me off, the singing was bad and I had come from a church where the singers were of a professional level and having been at the Academy of Performing Arts majoring in sound engineering, I am unfairly biased toward a good sound.
The main reason was my ex friend was still attending and I had no desire to have to see her every Sunday. My former pastor reached out to me and told me that ex friend had been made to leave due to being called out for her behaviour so I knew it might be time to go back.

The hardest thing is being made to feel welcome, which I did at both my previous church and my mums' church. But you need to attend more than once to be recognised!

I hope you had a lovely Mothers' Day. We had a great day, food was great and the company even better. Lots of laughs shared. Bestie has been part of my family for 50 years, she's part of the furniture now!

Glad you had the olive branch extended, prayers that it leads to goodness and grace xoxo

God bless

Re: Christian Chat

@DownMoreThanUp hi my brother, I have been thinking of you and wondering how you are managing. I pray the meeting with your wife goes okay and that you have a meeting that is not acrimonious.

You're in my thoughts and prayers brother

Re: Christian Chat

@ENKELI To be truthful i'm struggling badly right now. She was worse i ever seen her since when we first met. A very intensive discussion followed that. Where she basically told me i had not done any good as as she was concerned, for the last 4-5 years.

Re: Christian Chat

@DownMoreThanUp it certainly is going to be hard days. Thank goodness you are aware and can help her with tools that you find work. Even if they don't work for her, she will hopefully find her way out of the darkness.

Will you stay together? Only God knows that (and I know you know that) and I hope you do reconcile. You are certainly doing all that you can.

I am so sorry you are going through all this. I am thankful you have a counsellor and he sounds helpful for you.

Hugs and love dear brother xo

Re: Christian Chat

@ENKELI Means a lot. My therapist really took it serious and had me connect with my paranoia, rejection mindset and trauma memories deeper than ever - he is so good i can really get to some og the intensity buried there, causing my states to become so uncontrollable and psychotic.

Re: Christian Chat

Romans 10: 9  (ICB):

“If you openly say, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from death, you will be saved.”

Some Greek words

“Confess / openly say” — homologeō (ὁμολογέω)

Meaning: to declare openly, agree with, or acknowledge publicly.

“Lord” — Kyrios (Κύριος)

Meaning: Lord, Master, the one with authority.

Calling Jesus “Lord” was a powerful statement of faith.

“Believe” — pisteuō (πιστεύω)

Meaning: to trust in, rely on, or have faith in.

“Heart” — kardia (καρδία)

Meaning: the inner self — not just emotions, but the deepest place of trust and will.

“Raised” — egeirō (ἐγείρω)

Meaning: to raise up, awaken, or bring back to life.

“Saved” — sōzō (σῴζω)

Meaning: rescued, healed, delivered, made safe.

Biblical summary

This verse teaches that salvation comes through genuine faith in Jesus Christ. Paul explains that believing deeply that Jesus rose from the dead, and openly acknowledging Him as Lord, are signs of true faith. It’s not about being perfect or earning God’s love — it is about trusting in Jesus and receiving the salvation God offers through Him. 🙏

Re: Christian Chat

Hi @heartathome , @DownMoreThanUp , @Appleblossom , @ENKELI , @tyme , @MissGremlin , @REDLINEZ750 , @Shaz51 ,

Hebrews 9

- Describes the Old Testament tabernacle: The Holy Place and the Holy of Holies (the most holy place).

- In the Holy of Holies was the golden altar of incense and the gold-covered ark of the covenant containing the gold jar with manna, Aaron's staff that budded and the tables of the covenant.

- The cherubim of glory were above the ark overshadowing the mercy seat.

- Only the high priest entered the Holy of Holies - once a year with blood from animal sacrifices for his sins and the sins of the people.

- But Christ has appeared for a greater and more perfect tabernacle.

- Christ's sacrifice of His own blood entered the Holy of Holies once for all time.

- Therefore Christ is a mediator of a new covenant.

- Christ entered the heavenly tabernacle so that he might now appear in the presence of God for us.

- Christ will appear a second time to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him.

Hebrews 10

- The law was only a shadow of the good things to come - it could never perfect the worshippers - the same sacrifices year after year were required.

- Jesus fulfilled old testament prophecy in doing God's Will and offering himself as a sacrifice.

- Jesus, after offering one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God.

- Jesus has perfected forever those who are sanctified.

- A new covenant - I will put my laws on their hearts and write them on their minds - and - I will never again remember their sins.

- Therefore we can now enter the Holy of Holies through the blood of Jesus.

- Since we have a great high priest over the house of God let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith.

- Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, since He who promised is faithful.

- And let us watch out for one another to provoke love and good works, not neglecting to gather together.

- Don't throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.

Jesus has perfected forever those who are sanctified. What a promise! With Christ's laws on our hearts and minds and with forever forgiveness for everything we are perfect! We are so rich in Jesus.
