Henry's Landing Strip & Hangar

Re: Henry's Landing Strip & Hangar

Hi @Former-Member

A difficult day dropping my boy to hospital today. Now just empty. Are you ok?

Re: Henry's Landing Strip & Hangar

I'm sorry @Former-Member , I responded, but my post is now gone.

Re: Henry's Landing Strip & Hangar

Hello @Former-Member , @Anastasia@Emelia8 , @Appleblossom , @Clawde

Got up this morning, fairly late - must have needed the extra rest.

Notice that you have been active @Former-Member , though feeling a little stressed this morning. The helicopters, as they seem to be going out at specific times and depending on where you are located, may be transporting crew to their shifts on mining, drilling sites or offshore drilling rigs.

@Anastasia, feeling concerned and a feeling of emptyness, with son off to hospital. I do hope that whatever the needs being addressed, @Anastasia , that you will be pleased with progress. Unfortunately, I am not aware of the circumstances, so cannot offer more specific wishes for you, as much as I would like to.

@Emelia8, I am aware that today has been difficult. I do hope that feelings and thoughts will improve and allow for a more positive outlook to the future.

@Appleblossom, I am aware that what goes on around us can be in stark contrast to the way that we may be feeling and events that are occurring in our own lives, at any given time. Through that awareness, I appreciate the sentiment expressed in your observation; "It feels a little surreal to see the pics of planes with what is going on for me at the moment, but brought a smile of distraction and better times." I am pleased that the last part of the sentence reflects that moment of distraction and possibly relief within your space, through reflection and connection with better times. That is really part of what I hope that the thread offers.

@Clawde, It is so special to have a near constant companion in the forum. I believe that you are aware that I appreciate your presence and occasional comments and posts. Thank you so much for your company.

With My Best Wishes

@HenryX

Re: Henry's Landing Strip & Hangar

Thank you dear @HenryX

I have come to look for your messages as I enjoy reading your snippets of your life as well as valuable support messages to members.

My boy has a habit of not choosing good decisions, ones in his best interest, going to hospital (we are well into the double digits of admissions) is not always helpful. I am hoping this time proves me wrong.

In fact I would be delighted to be proven wrong.

I remember the first, well second admission (by choice) my mindset was he'll be "fixed" when he comes out. How naive was I! All I want for him is to USE the tools he has learned over the last three years. I keep asking myself when will he eventually help himself?

Re: Henry's Landing Strip & Hangar

Hello @Anastasia

Thank you for your positive observations about the thoughts that I offer. They are very much appreciated by me.

I can understand that developing feeling of "will this ever come good for my son?" Through your description, I am better able to understand your concerns and reservations about effectiveness of each subsequent period of treatment and/or therapy. Also, your wish and delight "to be proved wrong" and to see that your son will become aware of and use the methods and resources available to him.

It is likely that, like so many other life situations, there is a process, not always clear cut and well defined, through which your son may proceed and develop. Sometimes, we have to "hit rock bottom" before awareness takes hold. That is often a difficult experience for the person concerned, as well as for those who are in a position to and wish to support them.

I most sincerely hope, for you and your son, that he will soon "arrive" at that place, or make the transition to one of self-help, and in so doing, will give you the feeling that your efforts and concern are producing fulfilling results and outcomes.

With My Very Best Wishes

@HenryX

Thank you @Clawde

You are a beautiful soul.

@Former-Member We regularly hear helicopters at night here as well. Maybe every few weeks.  Circling again and again. Sadly they are police helicopters.

Guessing you are going through a lot.

Heart

@Anastasia Wishing the best for our boys growing into men.  It seems a hard job in today's world.

@HenryX Thank you for taking the time to write so thoughtfully and relate to my comments.  I believe it makes a difference to others seeing good interactions, and discussing the issues.  Good luck with your own realtionship.  I like the hope in your post.  I am struggling with hope at the moment, but I had a lovely visitor today and did lot of physical work to keep active and my mind off things I cannot control.

Re: Henry's Landing Strip & Hangar

Hi @HenryX  I recently found a relative who flew to Los Angeles from Sydney I think before or just after the WW11 as a passenger. They went via Hawaii and there was only about 6 passengers. Do you know what sort of plane they flew then? When he left Australia in the 20s he went by ship to San Francisco then caught a bus to Hollywood wanted to become a movie maker , but became a draughtsman for an architect & stayed in California all the way from Peterborough in SAust. @1stepup61
