Night Shift

Re: Night Shift

Me too with the good work when I'm there, @TAB. One job I crashed out of two weeks before I was to be given a promotion and a bonus of an all expenses paid holiday. Gotta laugh (in a gallows-humour kind of way). Smiley Wink

Re: Night Shift

Hello @Mazarita, it's so disappointing that your friend might not be able to make it, but if I'm reading it right - there's still a chance? And I can tell you, I'd be devastated if I had a TV and they took Star Trek off! If something makes you feel bad, it's huge, even if it seems small. Sometimes I find the bigger things somehow seep through the tiny cracks - maybe something I can't look at is trying to be seen. I feel for you, I know what it's like to be sad for no reason - it can make you sadder. OOoo video editing, that sounds exciting to me, I like to digitally manipulate photos - I used to love taking photos, but unfortunately the passion for it has subsided.

I've got a feel good story for you, I've just got back from it. I took my dogs for their afternoon walk and my cat came along as well. My heads been a bit all over the place today and I found myself wandering into another property, as I know it's not occupied. I could hear loud music, it happens sometimes, but my neighbours are few and far between. The next thing I knew I was following the music. I didn't think I'd been walking for that long, but I came out of the bush onto a bitumen road! I was not expecting to! And I was pretty disorientated. I could see a street sign, decided I'd head that way and hope it was familiar. It was, I'd walked much further than I'd realized and my cat was still with me. Cars started coming, I hadn't brought leads for the dogs, so I had to call them to me and hold them while the car passed - this happened a few times; I tell you for out here in the bush, it was like grand central station! 5 cars in total! The last one pulled right up beside me and the lady spoke to me - well that was it my head was frazzled. She just wanted to let me know that if her dogs came out just to tell them to . . . excuse my french . . bugger off. I smiled and said something, but my head was telling me to run. It wasn't until I reached my dirt road that I noticed that cat wasn't with us. I went back home, calling for him the whole way, knowing that if he could get home, he'd be there, because it was tea time. He wasn't there, I started having terrible thoughts about the ladies dogs having got him. Feeling absolutely awful because my cat had trusted me and I took him to a bitumen road! I had immediately started back out to look for him, but when I reached the front of my property I realized I still didn't have the dogs leads and it was getting dark, . . . so I returned home grabbed the leads and torch. I walked all the way back to the driveway where the lady had spoken to me, thinking it's no use going much further, I've very little chance of finding him. I called . . . and he was there:D So an hour or so coaching him back home and they're all fed and fast asleep. I might even sleep better tonight, as the whole fiasco took about 4 hours!

Re: Night Shift

Fantastic story, @Former-Member. What a little adventure you had! So glad it had the happy ending for you and your cat! Smiley Very Happy Thanks for your kind thoughts. That sounds interesting too, your digital manipulations of images. What kind of images do you create?

Re: Night Shift

All sorts @Mazarita. Though I haven't really done any of that for a few years now. It was never anything professional and I never knew what I was doing, just playing with different photo programs, I quite like GIMP it has soooo many tools. What sort of video editing do you do?

Re: Night Shift

@Former-Member, the video I do is a passionate hobby, though I tried earlier in my life to make a career out of it, with some recognition but not much in the way of paying work. The videos are experimental. I don't shoot them but like to put together material from other sources. They are all very short pieces.
