Re: Saturday Soiree - 1st August 2025

Hey @NightFury ,

I'm not hanging around today, but I wanted to check in.

The sun is so lovely in my side. It's great to read that you are getting your work done, bit by bit and treating yourself.

Totally deserved!!!

Re: Saturday Soiree - 1st August 2025

Thank you for checking in @tyme

A bit of sun, with a bit of warmth in it makes things feel a little brighter.

Getting it done bit by bit. This is my second break. Might have some left over Chinese for lunch  and give my laptop a bit of time to get some more charge into it because it's almost flat (silly me, forgot to charge it last time I used it).

Re: Saturday Soiree - 1st August 2025

@NightFury   Doing awesome work there on your essay. Bit by bit gets it done! It’s good you are taking breaks too helps to refresh before doing a bit more. Chinese for lunch sounds so yummy.

The jobs can definitely wait until you finish the essay. It’s nice and sunny in my part of Melbourne today which is good. Helps enjoy the day more and the clothes dry quicker lol! 😂

Re: Saturday Soiree - 1st August 2025

Hi @Cuddlebear @Shaz51 @TheMooge @NightFury and @tyme (even if you're gone until next shift you still get a hello lol)

Good to hear the weathers been good for you @Shaz51@Cuddlebear and @NightFury . Likewise here it seems nice weather, but its still only about 10 degrees Max, so im happy inside with blankets/oodie. 🥰

Well done on your studies @NightFury ! Can I ask what course you're doing?

I love to learn, and so often tempted to start another degree or short courses, but then I know the $$ and the time commitment for assessments and im not sure if I'm currently up for that because I also need to give some energy to improving my health (unless I quit work and then id have energy for health and study lol. But no $$). So many things id be interest to upskill in!!

My success today: i cooked lunch!

..and i ate it too. Which was good because I dont really like vegetables, and this dish was lol. It was better than I expected and palatable.

Re: Saturday Soiree - 1st August 2025

@AlwaysMyself I work full time as a teacher and study as well. Don't ask me how I make it work. The truth is, sometimes I don't.

I'm studying a Grad Cert in Child and Adolescent Mental Health. This is my third unit out of four. If all goes well then I can choose whether or not to take it further into studying for my Masters. I don't know yet.

the Grad Cert is a government subsidised course and other than the Student Contribution Fee, I've deferred my payments through HECS - meaning I pay it back through my taxes.

Working and studying and managing mental health and wellbeing is tricky and I'm still learning how to listen to that inner voice which tells me what I need for myself at any given time. Some weeks I get a lot done, some weeks I don't, but so far, it all balances itself out.

Re: Saturday Soiree - 1st August 2025

I'm hearing that there is sunshine for a lot of you today. I wonder if having this sunshine is lifting people's mood today? @NightFury @AlwaysMyself @Cuddlebear @TheMooge @Shaz51 ?

Re: Saturday Soiree - 1st August 2025

@AlwaysMyself  Oooh 10 degrees is cooler than here. I think it will reach 16 degrees here lol. It is nice though if sitting in the sun. There’s no wind either so thwt helps keeping it feel warm. I’m glad you are snuggled indoors. 🙂 Lunch sounds yum I do like vegetables lol.

Honestly well done for working. I’m not capable of it at the moment. Mental health is a bit in the bin and I’m struggling to even shower. I eat 1 small meal a day and just can’t find joy in anything. But I’m really glad you can work I realise it’s not easy though. You were saying you’ve got the weekend off. You have any plans?

Study is good but it does cost $$$. I’ve got post graduate qualifications so have student debt. I heard that for some people TAFE can offer free courses but not sure about who qualifies etc.

When I’m better I just do free little courses offered through local library. Not academic just fun stuff.

Re: Saturday Soiree - 1st August 2025

@tyme   It is helping me. I don’t know what it is but when the sun is pleasant (not too hot) it feels better. Gloomy overcast isnt as good! 😊 Does the sun help you too?

Re: Saturday Soiree - 1st August 2025

Unfortunately it's very rainy and cold where I am today @tyme. It hasn't stopped raining since last night.

Sport for tomorrow has already been cancelled.

Hope everyone else has the chance to enjoy a sunny day

Re: Saturday Soiree - 1st August 2025

I think the sun helps me. After posting that post before, I decided to migrate to sit in the sun. So now, I'm sitting in the sun and it's amazing! @Cuddlebear @NightFury @AlwaysMyself @Shaz51 @TheMooge

@TheMooge , what's been happening for you? What do you do to stay well? I'm mindful you posted about some nightmares.
