The Weekly Friday Feast

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

It must have been raining hard where you are, @Jacques. Glad you are enjoying the rain, even if not the leakage. It's been a hot day here and humid and I've been out in it a lot. I was literally dripping with sweat earlier in the day. A refreshing shower when I got home and the cool of evening has picked me up. My face is rosy from the sun. Pizza is being picked up from the local shop as we speak. All is good at this moment. How has has the day treated everyone?

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Haha, no, the sad fact is it was not that heavy, i just can't find the leak on the roof to fix it 😞 so frustrating.

sorry to hear it is uncomfortable their, it is ver yhumid and hot here too, but the rain has cooled it down a little.

mmmmmm, you lucky duck, Pizza for dinner, hope you and your partner enjoy 🙂

Glad all is well @Mazarita, you deserve a good day after the week you had 🙂

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hi All!!!

I had a bad few days, my first real "down swing" I've had in a long time. After all the stress, I had a meeting on Tuesday, which went suprisingly well.

And this morning I suddenly clicked that I am in the middle of an "up swing".
I want to buy stuff (I have limited myself to stuff I need or will definitely use), I want to do all sorts of things. I went on a site called "meetups" and found a social anxiety group that meets regularly that I've joined, I have RSVP'd to a meeting. I've booked a week off work, no idea what I'll do, but hey that's half the fun!!

Been a while since I've been on the swing.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Thanks, @Jacques. Well the day has had its ups and downs. Had a cry at something that came up in the psychologist session today, which was confronting as I don't like crying in front of people and for some reason I found it especially hard with him at the time. But after that I got together with a friend and her partner (who is also now a friend really) and we spent a couple of hours together. That moved the mood into a better place and now I'm just happy to be home and about to have dinner.

Hi @Crazy_Bug_Lady, good to see you as always. Glad your mood has picked up after some difficult days, and that your meeting went well. Awesome action on the social anxiety group.

About to eat, see you all in a bit.

Hi all,

heya @Crazy_Bug_Lady - yay for the upswing 😄 Sounds like you are handling the goods and bads of that really well (i.e. the spending :D) So glad that things are improving. Well done on taking some time for you, hopefully you can rest and just be nice to you for the week!

Hi @Mazarita

Well done on getting to the appointment, i'm like you, hate crying in front of people, but hopefully it was a good thing in that you were able to get some stuff aired out during the session, you've had a horrible last week or so. Glad you had a good afternoon with your friend(s) and feeling ok tonight! So glad you're here on the forums.

I'm feeling so frustrated and sort of overwhelmed tonight with my day. but theres nothing ican do now and I'm glad that the criminal case side of things is over with at least.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hi @Jacques

oh no about the leak! you might have to go up in the roof space ugh!! i've had a leak that was dripping inside about 4 m away from where the actual leak was because it was running down a piece of wood and then along a small slope on top of the cieling till it got to the hole! sigh! hope you find it at some stage. We had a big thunderstorm here this morning and a massive rain.. which was unfortunate because i'd left my quilts out to dry overnight! was no sign of any rain yesterday! oops

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Oh no @Former-Member, quits are so hard to dry at the best of times, they are so heavy when wet, i hope you get a warm day so they dry.

yes i have been reading up about leaks and they said the same as you, the problem here is the room was an add-on 40 years after the house was built, the cavity is 30cm, so no one can fit inside to see where the leak is, sigh 😞

i am going to get a win over it one day. it will just take time 🙂

i bet you are starting to get a build up of emotions with the new school year comming up, so exciting for you. how are the FUR BABIES going?

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@Angels333, those pancakes sound awesome. Are there any 'virtual leftovers'? Wouldn't mind some of that for dessert now that the pizza is down the hatch. 🙂

Hi @Former-Member, thanks so much for your support. It's so frustrating that your ex's criminal case hasn't gone the way it seems it should have, makes me want to growl. It's a measure of how far you've come recently that you can say that at least that part of it is over now. Hugs.

The other thing I did today was stop in at one of the Lifeline op shops and got an application for half a day a week volunteering there. I still have to speak to the manager and fill out a form and then they'll decide if they want me. But I feel good for taking at least taking that first step.
