sorry @Former-Member you didnt say anything wrong at all! I think im just feeling a bit low tonight. Seems so many people on here end up being a bit isolated/stuck at these times somehow. At least we can be together here and understand each other 🙂

@Angels333 I hope that you do manage to go the week. Whatever happens just keep coming back to being kind to yourself.
I was very ashamed about SH too, so much that I couldnt even speak about it, but when I was seeing a chiropractor who specialised in headaches and TMJ issues and he realised what was going on. He stopped me for the most part, cos it became obvious to me that I was undoing the healing and alignment I was getting in treatment. The illogicality of it upset me and gave me the impetus to stop ... eventually after a few slip ups.
@Former-Member Every social interaction stressed me to the max ... I would second guess and over analyse ... what I said and what they said. I couldnt just be me and say silly boring or irrational things like others did. I was so full of fear of others, it was so huge and overpowering. I think people see it. One lady in a therapy context said she could smell my fear. For some reason it doesnt happen any more. I dont know if it is just staying power or because I decided that I was as good as other people.
Dont be too hard on yourself with judgement. How do we know what is enough to achieve in a life? With ECT and the other things it is important to be forgiving of yourself. What is ... is. You are valuable for being alive not for how much you have achieved. How do we measure achievement anyway?
I hope your meeting with your mother was reasonable for you.
Take care both of you.

Hi @Appleblossom....
A big belated Happy Birthday to YOU!!
Sounds like you had a lovely day enjoying music! I follow a page called "becoming minimalist" on FB - I read some interesting articles... A lot of it simply seems like common sense, but it isn't in this materialistic culture! A lot of the philosophy is about spending money & time on experiences rather than acquiring stuff & clutter ~ sounds like you have worked that out. The articles help me when I'm frustrated about not having $$ to spend on "stuff" ~ like another pair of sandals (I only have one) or an active wear top I like... The only things I like to COLLECT these days anyhow is books
Thank you for your wise words re achievements etc. Bottom line ~ Be kind to Anna Anna!! Yes, I relate to your experiences with social stimulation....
I had an okay time with my mum ~ she gave me a block of vegan chocolate (she isn't vegan), an inspirational book on butterflies (I love butterflies ~ & books!) & some calming room spray (helpful when you have cats!) ~ smells good! She had already given me the "be love" active wear top ~ brought online & sent to here. I may get anxious about the interaction later & over analyse it, but for now I'm okay... She loves me. She also gave me $$ towards my glasses & promised me more, which is kind & HELPFUL!
Anyhow, keep enjoying the music at this time of year!
Happy Birthday @Former-Member
Namaste,
A
