Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Your dinner looks really nice.
I don't know what I'm having for dinner yet.
I'll let you know.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hi all...

Happy Friday!

My partner is making pumpkin soup for dinner! It will be chunky as our high powered blender cracked after repeated blending of hot soup - luckily we got another jug under warranty (allthough I don't think they will be genourous again)! It won't look as pretty as this, but hopefully it will be yummy!!

How is everyone? I'm anxious - it's making my tummy hurt - I had some peppermint tea to help a bit earlier....

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

well.... i was a bit naughty tonight and got take away! We are all a bit tired in this household. My lil guy has a bit of a blocked nose, slight cough so I think a little cold is on the way and he's fallen asleep watching bob the builder! It was autism awareness day at our school so he has blue hair and really needed a shower to wash out the chalk but instead he'll colour his sheets i guess lol! my broken washing machine got picked up today... but was told it could be 6 weeks before parts come in from samsung 😞

How is everyone?

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

I had eggs and leftovers like you @Jacques.. as my son went out.

Glad to see you all.

@Former-Member I love pumpkin soup.

I actually dont blend it much as I like the slightly granular texture that comes from mashing it. I recently replaced my blender that I bought when I was 18  .. the new one may not last as long as the old one   ... for some weird reason I feel proud of the kitchen utensils I still have that I bought when I was pretty much a kid.  Woman Happy DId something right.

Hi @Shaz51 .. Isnt funny how somehow we have the focus for a particular task ... and its better to use up the energy doing that thing than stop ourselves .. even if it doesnt really need doing.  I get on a roll with music, dishes, cleaning and gardening ... when I am on a roll.. I just go til I am worn out.. but satisfied.

Hi @BlueBay glad to see you .. I like coming here on Friday nights as I dont have enough adults in my life ... you might have too many ... more people than I could cope with at the moment.  I hope you are alright.

@NikNik Doesnt that slice look moreish?

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hi everyone, I had a gourmet chicken and leek pie not long ago from the local bakery. It's one of my favorite foods. Here's an alternative version of it to share with anyone who fancies some...

Chicken and Leek Pie

@NikNik, on the easter weekend partner and I each undertook to put together a short video. They've both since been featured on another website. We are happy about that. I like the look of your dinner. What is it?

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hi @Former-Member, @NikNik@Jacques & @BlueBay....

Do you have a laundromat nearby @Former-Member? SIX weeks!!! Are they fixing it under warranty?

I've struggled this week - on Monday I went to a BBQ organised by the guys who we buy our kombocha off & they are invovled in a charity that helps troubled youth. My partner is interested in helping & thinks I should too (although I'm a bit worried about teenagers these days, hmmm...) Anyhow, some of the support workers were there & some of the teenagers they help & we both felt out of place - it stressed me out though & there were tears in subsequent days.... One of the support workers told us she was doing a psychology degree, a criminology degree & youth justice diploma then asked us what we did - I went "ummmm" & then one of the kombocha guys & my partner made a joke about us being undercover agents....

Anyhow, I spent Tuesday in bed - didn't even want to go to yoga - didn't want to try. Wednesday I spent half the day in bed - then we travelled 3 hours each way to the Sunshine Coast for my "mother in law" to sell a dog & to see Nan's grave (we didn't realise it until we were up there, but it would of been her 94th birthday - she died Jan 3rd 2015) I had a quick, but beautiful visit to the beach (had a quick dip in the ocean) & takeaway Thai green curry as the sun went down.

Thursday I saw my psychologist in Brisbane & a friend....

I've been really exhausted this week, but got myself out of bed & to yoga this morning....

A struggle....

Namaste,

A

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

OMG @Former-Member, I hate it when people ask me what I do, it is so humiliating, mum just tells people we don't want to talk about it which makes it worse, people always look down on me when I have to say I am unemployed

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@Former-Member it took a while for me to decide certain things that were ok to share in casual party situation.  Now it is easier to get those quick answers on the tip of my tongue on time ..

I used to analyse and feel very sensitive to remarks.  Now I let a few go through to the keeper .. in case they were just random .. eg the kombacha guy was trying to make a joke and smooth through a social situation but didnt mean anything nasty.

I know you could have had a lot to say on those issues about psych etc ... dont feel back against a wall and compare yourself ... be you ...bend the conversation to your agenda ... that is what everyone else does in life.

They ALL mostly leave out the bad and not so pretty bits .. and focus on their strengths .. next time you see her have a few thoughts, texts up your sleeve just to have a bit of chewing the breeze with her. "Have you come across ... this theory ... of what do you think of that approach ... you dont have to compare uni enrolments ... Your gorgeous and fit and got a great guy and have good ideas ... focus on the good ones.

Everyone has shite ideas sometimes.

Glad you had a creative weekend @Mazarita
