Ok. @outlander I like long drives like the nullabor it’s a perfect excuse to drink coffee all day and ear servo food lol. Plus the scenery and people you meet, even in passing. Somehow even the most mundane things are exciting when away on a trip lol

Re: Word for the Day - Comfort or Play

@outlander, I spent 4 weeks in South Africa and Zimbabwe in 1983.  Loved it.  Probably my most memorable overseas trip. Where do I want to go?  Europe - all over.

Re: Word for the Day - Comfort or Play

Good idea @outlander - this is a good time of year to talk about travel

My last trip was to Cairns - I loved it there so I will be going back in the future for sure

When the school holidays are over I think I will go to Lakes Entrance for a few days and walk along the Lakes and sit in the sane-dunes and think about whatever I think about - I did this a couple of years ago and it was really peaceful and nice and after the last few weeks I feel like doing just that

Though I might catch the bus around to Eden and Two Fold Bay while I am that far east -

I am planning a trip to New Zealand as well - I will do the South Island I think - I would like to see the glacier near Christchurch and plan my own tour - there is no way I could keep up with an organised tour - and I got caught up in someone else's tour at the museum in Cairns - that is a get-here-an-look-for-a-few-minutes deal and I was there for a couple of hours there was so much to see

So my travels might just be an ongoing sage - I don't enjoy doing it during the school holidays though -

btw - I live fairly near the beach here myself - I could and do walk there sometimes - that's travel too

Re: Word for the Day - Comfort or Play

@outlander , it was very nice, and only a couple of slices left so not too much still tempting me.

@Hope4me  Not sure why the pic came out sideways 😄😄.  The cake was a hit with the younger kids 👍👍
