That's difficult @Razzle - I take it your Mum lives with you or you are her carer and I understand what you are saying - it can hardly be relaxing with her when you are about other business and of course - wants it her way - I could say more but no - I won't - you are battling with that cast on your leg for a week plus and doing any Christmas shopping is a hard task
But about your son - leaving a present on the Wishing Tree is wonderful - I had not thought of that and my boy has been gone a long time now - I guess we all do something and I did - but your memories are giving to other children - really kind and forward thinking - bless you
I had read something about your boy and I am sorry - this is a hard time of year for all the bereaved parents - I am with you - I hear you -
And it's hard - you are right - it shouldn't be this hard
Sending hugs Raz

Hi Maz - I could hunt up some of my stories - they are sometimes very funny but rather long - my favourite - and a family favourite - if called Of Mice and Women which comes down 4 generation of women and the fun of having mice in the house - I grew up during a mouse plague - if you picked up a piece of hessian or a slat of wood in the yard mice would run everywhere - I grew up with a hatred of mice running around the floor of the house at night and my gran would set an octagonal trap with four traps in it and I would hear it go off in the night and feel afraid to put my foot out of bed in the dark
My cat was a mouser when she was young and brought them into the unit and I would jump onto the furniture squealing - I can hardly believe I made such an archetypical noise - the cat soon got the idea of keeping her mouse outside where she was in charge of it -
I'm so glad you appreciate my stories - aw - and just to keep in touch with today's word - it's relaxation to write short stories - and to read them -
And it takes all sorts

Morning @outlander. And I must say its great to see your little animal profile pic.
I love all animals, other than spiders I think. Even them, I have respect for, but I am scared of them. I'm okay with snakes, coming from a farm, I have learned to respect and live with them.
I particularly love meerkats I think. Love their character and their activity levels. My favourite pet is, naturally, Holly my sweet little dog shown on my profile pic. I just adore her, she is my baby.
I would like to tag a couple of newcomers here who may gain some comfort from this thread. @Starta I know you're going through a lot right now, and you too @Peri. Perhaps you might like to join in here too? No pressure of course, as you may prefer to just read along.
Thanks @outlander and hi to everyone else here.
Sherry

I love listening to the birds that frequent my garden. Their singing brings a smile to my face.
I love it when I see a Koala walking along the road, or an Echidna or a Wombat. Living in the country offers many opportunities to see our native wildlife.

Yay - love animals for the word of the day. As some of you know I have a lovely (that's an understatement but I don't want to be toooo over the top with my adoration for her!) doggy named Evie. This is her, a little wet from a rainy morning but it never stops her from wanting to play fetch.
Animals really offer so much emotional support - even just looking at images or videos of cute animals helps cheer me up. Does anyone else find this? What is it about animals that helps you!
