Sleep is hard when you are overstimulated and stressed.Woman FrustratedWoman Sad

Sending this pic for YOU not for kidlets. Tho it helps if they get good rest too.Smiley Happy

I think the reason I was so accepting of my reversed day/night cycle last year was that I had struggled with it so much. I had to stop self whipping or even trying to control my self and just accept my self.

With your work you are in a difficult situation.

Re: Sleep

@Former-Member. I understand. I can manage to fall asleep, but not stay asleep. My dreams keep interfering and wake me up.
Do you have a wind down routine at the end of the night? They say that can help.

Re: Sleep

Hey @Former-Member

I have trouble with sleep too.  Either falling asleep or like you waking up with bad dreams. I have been trialling some sleep hypnosis and meditation available on Youtube.  There are a lot of different kinds - some that are shorter to help you fall to sleep, and others that go for 8 hours to help throughout your sleep.  I have been keeping the sound low and I dim my screen and I am finding it quite successful.  It's a bit of trial and error to find one that has a voice and music you like and speaks in a rhythm that suits, but It is worth a go.  I know there are phone apps too but they tend to cost money.

Hope you can find some relief.

Re: Sleep

hi @utopia and @MaryMahem
I play music at night, just soothing quiet music from youtube every night, same music and only put it on when im ready to sleep. I drink a herbal tea each night at similar time as im getting ready for bed. and dont (usually) use screens at all between midnight and 6am but nothing is really helping at the moment. I have meds but cant use them when working, they leave me too groggy. but its probably getting to a stage where im almost needing to take a day anyway because im jsut so tired.

Re: Sleep

@Former-Member - occasionally I need a sleeping med - when I've had so many days in a row with lack of sleep. I wonder if you could maybe do that on a Friday night. Take the med early - go to bed early and have a decent sleep. Still follow your nightly routine of herbal tea and soft music. Just start a little earlier.
Also, if you can try and turn off your electronics by 9pm - that could also help.

Re: Sleep

Hi @utopia they're good suggestions, when my kids are not with me every second weekend I have sometimes tried that to catch up a bit. In find if I try and wind up the night earlier I. Just end up thinking too much and still never fall asleep before midnight / dam even when I'm doing a little better than now. But should switch screens off a little earlier maybe and do more productive things.
