Re: Not Good Enough

Morning mate, first of all, my apologies for my poor English as English is not my first language.
I have read your message, in fact its a huge topic where every single one of us will face. For me, sometimes I dont feel that I can do anything for this life, I mean, in my twenties, I cant do anything proper, I get into a greate University, making all of my family happy and proud, then what? I studied in a place that I feel like a bigger prison, stress and deadlines keep running at your back. I tried, tried harder than anyone, but end of the day, the only answer I receive was "Not enough". Sorry for the long write of my story, now to the part where I overcome it. A friend once say: "No one can define "enough", all you can do is walk on your own foots, if you cant walk so crawls. Just keep going straight, no one know where we will stop anyway. Dont rush, just walk and enjoy while you can mate." I receive those wise words from my boss, who been with me for 3 years even when Im at my worse and costing him money, with all of my respect, I just want to share my little story to cheers someone's day. Thank you for reading until now, all the best for everyone.

Re: Not Good Enough

Thanks for this thread and thanks for tagging me @Till23 . Best wishes for your sporting events this weekend, it's awesome you've made it this far. You too @The-red-centaur

I'm so glad your boss is so supportive @Dannie2004 .

I don't have anything to add right now. I'm in a depressive slump and definitely don't feel good enough. Keep soldiering on everyone - you set good examples @Appleblossom @MJG017 .

Re: Not Good Enough

Hi

I started doing the Ho'oponopono mantra - it is good at helping retrain your inner critical voice & thoughts.

There are other mantras & meditation techniques to explore too or you can make up a mantra that suits you.

Happy to help sometime.

Re: Not Good Enough

Thanks @Watu . I googled it. "Ho'oponopono centres around a powerful mantra: "I'm sorry, Please forgive me, Thank you, I love you." These words form a Hawaiian prayer as a transformative tool for healing and reconciliation."

It reminds me Metta meditation is good too, focussing on different people, both others and ourselves eg "May you be well, may you be happy, may you be peaceful, may you be kind".

Re: Not Good Enough

Hi @Shaz51 @Till23 @Watu @Dimity @Dannie2004 ,

Thank you to all who have posted here. It sounds like this thread resonates with a lot of members.

What are some of your strategies when these thoughts of 'I'm not good enough' pop up?

I can surely say that I have certainly been in this space before too.

Re: Not Good Enough

@Till23 how was the weather?

How was your sporting today?

I am actually feeling better. Got through a big day. Maybe I am finding my tribe. Went to a new recorder group but I knew the various individuals. The guy who runs it first invited me about 7 years ago. I guess I feel better about myself and dealing with others in the close musical working relationships needed in ensemble. Guess I will visit the rock group tmrw, return their folder and sai, thanks but no thanks. I tend to lean towards the quieter subtle work of today's group, than the amplified stuff and worrying about popularity. It's a privilege to do music with good musicians. I feel good friends with one lady and getting along with the 4 others and the leader. I don't mean to be snooty but with my neck condition I treat music as medicine and am learning to be careful.

@tyme I love the meditation suggestions. I tend not to get into an argybargy with myself about thoughts. I notice them. I do keep feeding my soul.

Take care all..

@Watu @Dimity @Shaz51

Re: Not Good Enough

I have to be honest and say that I was a total sceptic when it came to meditation - until I realised it's power and how much wecan change our brains through neuroplasticity @Appleblossom

Very interesting field of science.

Re: Not Good Enough

I did some last night @tyme began meditating in the early 1980s. Done a few styles, however, it isn't for everyone all of the time. There was about 10 years I just couldn't do it.
