@Former-Member Thank you for running this topic tonight. Not only was it a great distraction to stop me winding up, it was really relevant to part of what was going on in my brain. There were too many goals from everywhere but I wasn't really achieving much beyond the designated goals for a particular day. These goals all need to be habits for me to get back in the real world and function. I just bought the kindle version of 'Better Than Before' Gretchen Rubin as a slightly early birthday present to myself. Not sure I can make anything a habit by my birthday but I guess I can try to create lots more habits by my next birthday.

Thank you so much for joining us tonight. It was a really interesting discussion that showed how much we all struggle but the successes we're experiencing along the way. That's what we need to recognise and build on. I haven't put out quite as much info on habit formation as I'd intended so I'll try to get back to the thread later in the week to add some more.
Feel free to keep the discussion going but I'm going to bow out for tonight - more inspired to keep working on my habits than ever. Thank you

Sorry I think I misconstrued the giving up smoking. I did give up smoking that way a few years ago now. It was very much one day at a time. I have been successful using that method not to SH too in the past. Eg I'm just not going to SH for the next hour but then it's ok. It has lost its effectiveness now but worked for a while.
