Re: Fragile

@Appleblossom I am so sorry you were mistreated today. Some nurse should not be allowed to interact with people. I hope you're okay.

Blossom, I understand that feeling of being fragile. I definitely was in a fragile state the past week. Now that I am recovering, I come down with a head cold. Nothing like feeling physically unwell grr.

Look after yourself sweetie, you truly are a blessing on the forums xo

Thank you very much @ENKELI

I am hearing more kindness for this hip problem than ever before, which I am very grateful for.  Given the severity and length of my neck condition, it confirms how bad things were, that I accepted it for so long.

I have been extremely slow in movement so limiting time on forums.  My mobility has improved a bit, and I went into city for my arts rehearsal today.  I also have an ensemble tomorrow and a small mother's day meal with my son.

I hope you all have a decent time this weekend, whatever you are planning to do.

Melbourne weather has kicked in again, just to make sure we had not forgotten what latitude we are on...lol

Stay warm

Re: Fragile

Oh dear being immobilised with a painful hip problem is bad news @Appleblossom . I trust you and your son have been supporting each other, it's been one thing after another for you.

I'm glad you're improving and getting back to your creative pursuits.

You stay warm too - if warm wishes counted you'd be toasty. Take care.

Re: Fragile

Yes my son is trying to support and co-ordinate responsibly.   Thanks @Dimity @ENKELI

Found a philosopher theologian I had not heard of before... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dietrich_von_Hildebrand

Good for a little research and reflection

though had a good convo about the rosary with my nephew the other day.... so many different approaches for so many different people.  It is good to actually be able to talk about these different strategies as relevant to the individual's situation.  SO I am grateful.  Him and his siblings are struggling, for legitimate reasons.

This year, my son is hearing 4 of his cousins talking about supporting their mothers.  Wow! What an enormous shift, from the previous decades where it had been mainly ridicule. So I guess, we are finding out who are genuine family.  I do hope they all manage to stay in mutually encouraging relationships and provide my son with a sense of extended family, finally.  It is good news. For decades there was naught.

Re: Fragile

I'm glad you're happy with the path your son and nephews are on @Appleblossom ... dare I say you may have helped guide them.

Hildebrand looks interesting.  I'll need to go back to Ingarden to understand the Wikipedia comparison but the emphasis on realism and the substance of values sound inviting.

I have no understanding of the rosary. My mother who'd feigned conversion confiscated and threw away the rosaries we given by my father's relative who was a religious. I've overheard it being recited in my father's aged care home. I'm not sure how one contemplates the Mysteries while chanting the decades. Part of my identity crisis over Catholicism, as I realise it's central to Marian practice

Re: Fragile

Thinking of you @Appleblossom, thanks so much for the tag 🫶💜

Re: Fragile

My nephew was reciting the rosary on a long car drive wih his mum to help calm them after he had a panic attack.  His mum has an ABI from car accident over 40 years ago, so definitely disabled. He drives. He was talking about his sister saying the rosary etc. It was just good having intelligent conversation about it rather than mother, who never would open or discuss anything, but just make out her telephone wire to God had top priority.

Rosary was a feature in my life and still is, although, I have my take on it all. Not dogmatic or fundamentalist, but there are many aspects I appreciate in the practice.

A few in my current church scoff at the worship of Mary in the Roman Catholic tradition.  I just do what feels right for me, and learn about all the differences and dont try too hard to reconcile it all.

Re: Fragile

Gah, you poor thing! It sounds like you're experiencing quite a bit of discomfort and pain... is anything helping you? @Appleblossom 🥹

Good on you for making it to rehearsals despite how you're feeling!

Your mother's day meal sounds like it will be very much appreciated. How is your son doing?

Sending lots of healing energy/prayers your way.
