Way to go @Teej. I hope it's okay to offer my support here.
I hate having ants crawling on me. I find a bit of a vacuuming fixes their little red wagons for a bit, gets rid of anything (food or skin crumbs) that they might be chasing down too.
If I might share a 'trick' I use sometimes when I want a room tidy but don't have time or energy to put everything away right then. I grab a box, couple of them depending on what and where the stuff is to go, or wash baskets even, and roughly sort the doesn't-belong-here stuff into them for easier putting away later.
'Course, those boxes will need sorting later, or it just keeps piling up, but it's a quick fix to help in the right-here-right-now department.
HOpe it's going well over your way. @Teej @CheerBear @Faith-and-Hope

Thank you @Former-Member your post was timely as Iām distracted again.....at least not self destructing. Part of my problem is that I moved in nearly two years ago and have never got around to organising my room. There were other issues too......I didnāt think Iād be on this planet long enough to do that and it would be easier for the kids if things were still in boxes. But Iām slowly moving away from that mentality and at least trying to live more day to day. My family bought me a bed over a year ago that I havenāt built yet.....it was another itās easier for the kids to get rid of if itās still in itās box. Iād actually really like to get off my mattress off the floor now and actually sleep in a bed. The plan is to try to get my room organised so I can build my bed..... and who knows maybe even a life but as you can tell Iāve let it get out of control. It seems overwhelming a lot of the time and sometimes emotional. However š youāve just inspired me to keep going and hope I can one day sleep in a proper bed again š³. Onwards and upwards she says as sheās going to throw as much stuff as she can into baskets so I can vacuum and get on top of ants. I canāt see any this second but Iām guessing theyāre hiding somewhere.
I hope the day has been kind to you. Thanks for sharing. šš¤

Good timing hey @Teej Glad to help with that organisation.
It sounds like you're moving along well enough, well enough is all we need at any given time, I believe.
Do you find listing stuff in order of what you like to get accomplished of any help?
I often make a list of things that either need to be done or stuff gets wasted and I dislike that, or that I'd just feel a bit better if it's done. Nothing huge, everything is broken into baby steps on my list so there's no overwhelm that big jobs can sometimes make me feel.
thank you for your lovely kind wishes, parts of the day have been disastrous and other parts reasonably good. You've provided a lovely lift in mood for me. Thank you. Look after you and hope your day gives you some sense of achievement and joy.

@Teej Hi Teej yes I have grief with ants!!! The little black ones. I spray them with deoderant that seems to put them off their trail for awhile. They are in my bathroom looking for water. Just waiting, waiting, waiting for winter for all the livestock to go into hibernation.
I am so sorry you have been having such a hard time. You are such a kind person you don't deserve it. Good luck with the bed making.... maybe you can get a posse around to help you make it (ps: if it is an Swedish bed I would suggest it from personal experience).
Take care. love gp xx

Hi, sorry itās taken a bit of time to get back here @Former-Member. I struggle with lists currently. I find I spend so long on making them and then get distracted and donāt follow them. I have a very distractable disorganised brain. It was lovely to read you had a lift in your day. Iām hoping the evening has been ok too.
I still have a way to go to get my room cleaned. Itās been a strange day but I am determined to get on top of this now. Thanks again for the support. šš¤

Thanks @Bunniekins your post made me realise it may not just be my grotty room. Itās been hot and humid and when I looked outside there were ants everywhere. Iāve had them in the toilet and bathroom this year too.
Lol and yes itās a Swedish bed and probably could cause the death of me putting it together š. Iāll get my sons to help when I get to that point. So far just getting the floor cleared and clean will be enough. About to put fresh sheets on. Hereās hoping your evening has gone well. Thanks for the support. Itās helped today šš¤

No problem re time @Teej you have things you have to do as do we all, we get back into ForumLand when we can.
Very pleased you have had some positives in your day.
I can understand the list thing getting complicated and distracting, I can do that too. lately I have taken to using my notebook beside my bed, I have two in case I take one out of the room to follow up on stuff. Because I usually remember what it was i wanted to do after I've turned the computer off, or after I've gone to bed and it's just too much effort to get up again, I jot it down in that bedside notebook so I remember the next day.
That has really helped. there's an A4 sized white board on the fridge that I write down the cooking things I want to do too. I can then do then when I feel like it. Lists used to sort of scream at me that I wasnt' doing enough, but now I just use them as a reminder to do some of those things I'd like to do.
My memory has gotten selective with this latest bout of sadness and I've used the lists to help overcome that.
@Bunniekins I have teensy black ants and largish golden ants that come inside here, the teensy ones are coming through the door latch! Deodorant fixes 'em hey? Must try that, it would mess up their odour trail somewhat. Squashing a couple and wiping it across the trail slows them down for a day or so too.

@Former-Member Hi SunShower tell me how you go with the deoderant for the ants pesky lil blighters. I get them all through the house ... it is just a summer thing I am afraid. All stops when the weather gets colder. Was reading on ABC webstite that it has been bad this year for ants becase of the lack of rain.

@Teej Yes I love how the Swedish furniture is protrayed as being easy to put together well in reality (though my experience) it is super complicated. Needed my ex to help me do it. As for the ants yes there was a news article about how there were more ants in peoples houses this year due to the lack of rain and very hot humid days. I have the all through the the bathroom but the good news is if you have ats you dont have terminites as they do not get along.
