Asking for prayer Family, i have been on the loosing of the battle lately. i have been so terribly down. Everything was already hard but the last few weeks it has really become bad. Situation very much the same, but the depression making it seem so much worse, anger seems to feed on it as the depression does on the anger, it is lasting so long as if good times will not return. Also because i try and not medicate the pain away. Have an appoint with my GP hopefully to get referral to someone who can help me there.

That is if i can convince them i need the meds.

Re: Christian Chat

Ephesians 2:8–9 (ICB):
“I mean that you have been saved by grace because you believed (to cling to, rely on and trust in)  You did not save yourselves; it was a gift from God.
It was not the result of your own efforts. So you cannot brag about it.”

Simple biblical summary:
These verses remind us that God’s love and salvation are gifts, not something we have to earn by being perfect. Faith means trusting Him, and His grace meets us where we are. No one has to prove their worth to receive God’s love — it is given freely through Christ. 🙏

Re: Christian Chat

@heartathome "So you cannot brag about it."

Such an important line in my life. For years i propped up myself in low self-esteem my knowledge and faith in God. Not bragging for the sake of lifting myself up with pride or self glory - although while psychotic i often did, but much more the respect and love i gained where i had none.

Yet faith and everything good is from God - given to us to use and bear fruit with - fruit to eternal life - not propping up needs caused by a childhood growing up feeling deeply unloved, no good and rejected.

@ENKELI @Shaz51 @Realness @Appleblossom

Faith as a gift is GREATEST really for we never have to ask it from ourselves, and can ask any time for some when needed. Learning to understand this  took an unbelievable burden of my shoulders demanding i had the faith to stop being paranoid, hear evil voices in my head and therefore rage at them psychotically as well as stop a myriad of things i deemed sinful my religious mind.

Ancient Garments.

Faith can quickly become the driest ink of pen,
God’s living truths half-grasped by fallen men.
Still dressing believers in clothes centuries-old ,
stitch their naked fear and plight into a static mould.

Forgetting Christ before the world was stripped bare
naked hung in love’s revealing light true life to share.
For our Lord Jesus is not truth dressed in our history,
nor must He be buried underneath religious tyranny.

Christ's truth is God’s fierce love descending from On high
from every untruth where death and darkness hide the lie
So please let any ancient garments fall into the dust
His love clothes us His righteousness not moth or rust.

Re: Christian Chat

Hi @heartathome , @DownMoreThanUp , @Appleblossom , @ENKELI , @Shaz51 , @tyme , @REDLINEZ750 , @MissGremlin ,

I Peter

I Peter 1

- From Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ.

- To scattered Christians.

- According to the foreknowledge of God the Father, the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient and to be sprinkled with the blood of Jesus Christ.

- Grace and peace.

- Praise to God. God is so good, and by raising Jesus from death He has given us new life, a living hope and an imperishable inheritance, kept in heaven for you.

- Being guarded by God's power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

- You rejoice in this even though now for a little while you have various trials.

- So that the proven character of your faith may result in praise, glory, and honour at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

- Though you have not seen him, you love him; though not seeing him now, you believe in him, and you rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy, because you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

- Prophets longed for a glimpse of these things.

- Therefore, with your minds ready for action, be sober-minded and set your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

- As the one who called you is holy, you also be holy in all conduct.

- If you appeal to the Father who judges impartially, conduct yourselves in reverence during your time here as strangers - for you have been redeemed with the precious blood of Christ.

- SInce you have purified yourselves by your obedience to the truth, so that you show sincere brotherly love for each other, from a pure heart love one another constantly because you have been born again, through the living and enduring word of God.

I Peter 2

- Therefore rid yourselves of all malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy and slander.

- Desire the pure milk of the Word.

- As you come to Him, a living stone - rejected by people but chosen and honoured by God - you yourselves, as living stones, a spiritual house, are being built to be a holy priesthood to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

- Dear friends, I urge you as strangers and exiles to abstain from sinful desires that wage war against the soul.

- Submit to every human authority.

- Silence the ignorance of foolish people by doing good.

- Show respect to all men.

- Love the brothers and sisters.

- Fear God.

- Slaves, submit to your masters.

- Called to suffering (despite doing good), because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example that you should follow in his steps.

- Jesus' sacrificial example.

- For you were like sheep going astray, but you have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

I Peter 3

- Wives submit yourselves to your husbands - the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit.

- Husbands - live with your wives in an understanding way.

- All of you be like-minded and sympathetic, love one another and be compassionate and humble.

- Not paying back evil for evil or insult for insult, but on the contrary blessing so that you may inherit a blessing.

- Keep your tongue from evil and lips from speaking deceit.

- The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are open to their prayer.

- Who then will harm you if you are devoted to what is good?

- But even if you do suffer for righteousness, you are blessed - remember Christ.

I Peter 4

- Since Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same understanding - because the one who suffers in the flesh is finished with sin - ... but lives for God's will.

- The end of all things is near; therefore be alert and sober-minded for prayer.

- Maintain constant love for one another - love covers a multitude of sins.

- Be hospitable.

- Speak with God's words; serve with the strength God provides - so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything.

- Dear friends, don't be surprised when the fiery ordeal comes among you to test you as if something strange were happening to you.

- Instead, rejoice as you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may also rejoice with great joy when his glory is revealed.

- Let those who suffer according to God's will entrust themselves to a faithful Creator while doing what is good.

I Peter 5

- Elders - Shepherd God's flock eagerly being examples to the flock.

- Clothe yourselves with humility toward one another.

- Cast all your cares on God.

- Be sober-minded, be alert. Your adversary the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour.

- Resist him, firm in the faith.

- The God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, establish, strengthen, and support you after you have suffered a little while.

- To God be dominion forever. Amen.

- Peace to all of you who are in Christ.

To scattered Christians experiencing various trials. Suffering gets many references. In Chapter One, Peter always lands on end times (heaven, last time, revelation of Jesus Christ, salvation of your souls) as the time of reward. Jesus has given us given us a "new life, a living hope and an imperishable inheritance, kept in heaven for you" - it will be worth the wait!

Re: Christian Chat

Hi @DownMoreThanUp ,

You're in my prayers. May God give you wisdom and guidance as you move through your days. May you stay close to scripture to help God defeat lies. God bless and keep you. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

So true it is worth the wait for no one can even conceive what God has in store for those who love Him. However in chapter 1:22-25 Peter give us a clear out line when and how this awaiting can be experienced,  even as Paul demonstrates to us rejoicing in his suffering Christ's\The Living Word sake.

For not sure what translation you used but 1 Peter 1:22 talks about the essence that to us where we are born of the word, or still (albeit partly,)  stuck with our carnal existence where goodness, although beautiful a flower withers just like the grass of the fields. Yet where in our hearts we have met Jesus in His love over us we never ever cease His goodness lived, unless we let go of our faith in Christ's love for us the 'voices' of guilt, shame, regret, fear, hopelessness, despair and unbelief in the power of love and truth our hearts and minds.
@heartathome @ENKELI @Shaz51 @Appleblossom
When down deep like lately again, i feel totally cut off and blamed for all the suffering i go through as well as blamed for the hurts of those i love. This is often far too much for me to handle just a tender flower my physical existence. All on my own at times often more than a week all on my own with any other person to check in on me or support me or just get my mind of my suffering. Averaging less than 4 hours sleep the last 3 months. Without the wonderful love and support i have been used to for so long but upset and angry me sharing my pain and worry about this.

For when i am in a state, chronically short of lack of sleep, badly overcome by the blame and rejection, the very love i carry for Jesus and Heaven, my depressed mind in state actively uses against me fighting my suffering. (While the meds i need to fight this i'm not allowed, and therefore have been trying very hard not to need and try using only to assist getting out of my states when snowed under.)

Unfortunately this reality is becoming a very painful reality in my daily life lately.

i find that in such states i want to do it wrong to get what want most to experience the finishing line. (Rev 9:1-12, seems unrelenting then instead of just 5 months.😢)

Those moments gave rise to this poem i posted before.

Doing it Wrong To Right.
Wrong is not just adding no good to right.
It is also giving what is good to no good!
Why take a rotten apple out of the crate
if not the rot rots the good ones remaining?
So why then do i  give my hurt to not hurting,
and not hurting to hurt taking good left over?

Yet such is the paradoxes dining the forbidden fruit!
Depression rots life within the core of my existence,
me wanting to do it wrong to make things right.

(SAFE THO)

(Someone who knows these truths as well. (our brother in law did, after i and some one else saved him in the knick of time. i do understand how such can hurt, also hurt the family he left behind😭.))

(Although possibly it could trigger some!!)

Re: Christian Chat

Hi @DownMoreThanUp ,

Thank you for sharing so honesty, you're not alone and others members will resonate, especially with the rejection you describe. It sounds like you've been carrying a lot, and I imagine that ongoing sleep deprivation would make everything feel even more intense and overwhelming.

I'm wondering whether you may be able to speak to your GP about this?

I'm also just letting you and the community know that I have removed the video link to help keep this a safe space for everyone, as the content may be triggering to some other members.

Thank you again for sharing and reaching out. If things even begin to feel unsafe, please don't hesitate to contact Lifeline - 13 11 14, or Suicide Callback Service - 1300 659 467

I hope you get some rest soon. Thinking of you💙
