In Melbourne this morning, it’s windy and cold so a perfect day for relaxing or in my case, help tidy up the unit as our wonderful landlord is getting a new split system heating unit installed for us tomorrow which he initially told us would be getting done after we stayed for a year when we signed the lease in November last year. Fast forward and he’s gone from a year to a few weeks when I was in hospital and as of yesterday, being installed tomorrow so lots of cleaning to do. Our landlord is really nice and unlike previous real estate property managers, actually offers to pay us back for things we get done to the unit like the pest inspection we had done back in June. He’s prepared to deduct the costs off our rent which we didn’t expect but it’s nice to know in case we get into trouble financially. Hopefully he renews the lease for us and we get to stay here a bit longer as we like the location and suburb.

Hello @StuF how are you going today? Just waiting for the weekend.  Noticed that Medicare is being scrapped by many GP's don't know how it will affect me.  Wondering about my local clinic.

Yeah @TAB could not afford hair dyes.  I guess I will continue with the audio and do it that way.  I grew out my hair as the prices were steep for natural pigments.  Would not do commercial dye as its a health hazard

I'm going ok thanks. Luckily I'm largely occupied the before the funeral Monday- work this afternoon, some treatment tomorrow and getting up early Sunday to fly to the funeral. Not especially busy, but enough to occupy the mind at least some of the time.

Yeah, I've seen a bit (little) about the Medicare thing...think I'm going with blind hope that it won't affect my clinic!

I hope you have a good weekend when it arrives. Any plans?

Yes it should be a lovely funeral with all that color, you will be able to give your cousin a good send off @StuF.  Wishing you safe travels my friend.  It should be good connecting with your kin again.  Your cousin sounded like a nice person and so did his mother and sister.  Its great to see that level of support.  

I have no big plans for the weekend except getting into the garden and organising my dehydrator.  Have to give my kitchen a cleanout and do a bit more housework so generally a routine filled weekend.

That's really good news @Judi9877  re aircon. Not good for mh being frozen or sweating in house. Or horrible area/neighbors All too common these days

Well enjoy your weekend. Sounds like you have positive and practical plans. As long as you enjoy yourself somewhere in there too (I imagine the gardening, at least, is enjoyable whilst being work)

re post to @StuF  my gp at old place stopped bulk billing just before I left. Was $20 on top up to $60 plus for longer consult. 
$20 not that bad, bad made me think twice before going , only thing was , had to have enough in bank to pay it all upfront then then would reverse it instantly w medicare to pay $20  or something. Ph appt had to have $90 in account somehow and took ages to get partial refund

Bloody medical stuff. The 2 biopsies I had done last week cost me $220. Which apparently Medicare 'review' over Two Weeks before possibly paying some back!

At least the results were all good 🙂
