Very lucky @TAB goitre is caused by lack of iodine in your diet from what I know. Did the doctor say anything about that? Many breads and salt is iodised these days so you can get them into your diet easily.  Please check with your doctor first as the thyroid is one of those glands that is so sensitive to changes
