Re: Icebreakers time!

Hello Forumites, it's "icebreaker time" 🎶!

Thanks @rav3n for inviting me to create an icebreaker and it's so exciting to be part of this awesome thread!

So fellow Forumites, imaging you had a stroke of luck and you won soooo much cash 💰 that you don't know what to do with it all. (dreams can happen right!!) And while you are sitting back sipping your favourite drink on the deck of some random cruise ship (maybe the SANE Cruise 🛳️) and considering your options. You get a bright idea 💡 "lets create a bucket list" to help you pass the time and spend some of your fortune filling your cup!

Bucket List Blocks.jpg

So lets hear it for your top 5 things you would do if you have endless amounts of money to spend and nobody telling you what to do and how to do it? 💸

  • Where would you go?
  • What would you do?
  • What would you buy?
  • Where would you donate?
  • How would you invest?
  • What would you try?

Re: Icebreakers time!

Love that @Sparky79! I want to live in a kitty house too 🤣 RiverSeal ❤️

Re: Icebreakers time!

I would pay all my bills, find a cute little cottage and buy it, donate to various homeless shelters and then go on a holiday around the world with my daughter.

Re: Icebreakers time!

Haha @Sparky79 that is a very you answer lol! Answering in memes 😂 I love it lol.

@pansexualpirate that sounds a very nice way to spend it. 🙂 Is there any specific highlights of the around-the-world that would be the must-have destinations?

I would definitely invest it so that I could then live/travel off the earnings. 😎. But I don't know the best investment options these days, so I would get a well-reputed investment manager to do that for me.

If it was a big enough lottery to live off without having to work anymore, then I would do volunteer work instead, train one of my dogs to be a therapy dog (to visit people), and travel to explore. Possibly host some social craft groups too if I had the energy and space/room.

Re: Icebreakers time!

@RiverSeal thanks for the tag!

If I had endless amounts of money -

  • Where would you go?
I'd go back to the US to see my dearest friend, I'd also take my aunt and uncle to Ireland to see their son (my cousin) and his wife and kids, and a trip to Bali and Singapore with my mum
  • What would you do?
I'd like to think I would volunteer somewhere, I'd go visit my dad and get him into a different care facility that is more interactive, buy my sisters an apartment each, get mums' house renovated and updated, get my house repaired and renovated
  • What would you buy?
I don't have anything I can think of that I would want to buy, a car for mum, pay off my oldest friends' car
  • Where would you donate?
RSPCA, dogs home, cats home, World Wide fund for Nature, my church and my mums' church
  • How would you invest?
I would get a financial adviser and also put money into my super as it's a high performing fund.
  • What would you try?
First class travel, driving across the Nullabor with @Glisten, a river cruise in Europe with my mum and brother

I look forward to reading what everyone else would do 🙂

Re: Icebreakers time!

Wow that's a great list @ENKELI! Ilove that you are supporting others and caring for animals 🙂 Smart to get some financial advise too. Thanks for responding ❤️ RiverSeal

Re: Icebreakers time!

this is a good icebreaker @RiverSeal umm lets see.........

1. i would like to see where my dad was born and grew up in Germany, i don't know anything about his time there and he always wanted to take me to show me where he grew up, but it never happened as he got sick and died.

2. im not sure if i had all the money in the world i would be able to leave home (i know it sounds stupid.) im not sure much would change for me for number 2.

3. what would i buy, well i would buy mum a good second hand car, someone ran into her car and although it was not written off it is not great either.

4. i would donate to SANE of course 😁 and life line as both have saved my life on more than one occasion and i would donate to homeless services. actually if i ever won lotto i would give it all away to help people less fortunate.

5. for investment i would setup a personal managed fund to support my partner and her children. something with low risk shares. not that i will ever have any substantial money in my life time lol.

6. ooh what would i try.................hmm it would be nice to try financial freedom one day, not having any fear of something going wrong or how i will afford a large bill. it would be nice to experience.

Re: Icebreakers time!

Oh my stars @RiverSeal this is all your fault. @ENKELI my dearest and only Retiisi why are we driving across the Nullabor? 😳

If it’s on your bucket 🪣 list, I am totally your wing-person.

If we did it in a Bugatti it would be a very fast trip.

I wonder if anyone set a record for a Nullabor crossing?

Can we just go horse riding for five days in NZ?

Hugs your tomaatti 🍅

Re: Icebreakers time!

Oops 😬 apologies @Glisten! Enjoy the Nullabor 🚔 RiverSeal
