Awww *hugs* @Former-Member
It sounds like you've had some bad things happen throughout your life, which were beyond your control. I'm so sorry to hear this. Please know that it's not your fault.
If you can, try and focus on things that you can change, the now. The past has happened, and it can't be changed.Focusing on it can feeling disempowering. So try and remain in the present for you. Be kind to you, and care for yourself. It helps you to build a brighter future, and leave darkness in the past.

Hi @Former-Member!
I do love a good treat - just enjoyed a Timtam (one of my fav treat), and home cooked meal.
Excercise is so helpful to calm and relax. @Jamc has recently started exercising, and I believe @Former-Member goes to yoga. @Mazarita also does Tai-chi.
I do yoga six days a week, and it really helps. I try not to place to much pressure on myself, sometimes I only do 15 minutes at home, other times I do longer sessions. Since I started I've felt clearer throughout the day.
Good food, and exercise and a great combination for health and well-being. Do you find that you feel better when you're eating well, and exercising?

Hi @Former-Member,
I may do Tai Chi in the future. For now my regular exercise consists of 10 minute bursts on the exercise bike (up to 3 times a day, often less), physio stretching routine and walking up and down the beach across the road very often. That and getting around on public transport and walking semi-long distances to local shops and appointments etc. I wish my body was 20 years younger too and never had crohns disease. But even that has been treating me a lot better lately, probably related to me looking after myself better in various ways. It's a case of slowly building up for me.

Thanks both...
Yes, I go to yoga usually twice a week....
I am trying to motivate myself to get back into running, but poor sleep & now a heat wave aren't helping me (I ran a half marathon last year...)

@Former-Member I have an exercise bike at home. I can't afford gyms, and social anxiety and body self-image issues would get in the way of my doing it at present. I don't rule out anything in the future. But the modest exercise I am doing is certainly going along with some improvements in my state of being in recent months. After being housebound and mostly inactive for about 7 years I developed chronic compartment syndrome in my lower legs and was experiencing a lot of pain after five minutes or less of walking. I'm now able to walk about 1.5km at a time thanks to really helpful physio (and actually doing the exercises). I find they are a good mindfulness practice too in a way.
