@PeppyPatti I have been working on the boundary issue for a while now. Probably unlikely to get it right, cos I just don’t seem to work that way.
yes, I agree there are plenty of times it is alright and even good to have porous boundaries. In many mystical or spiritual or cultural traditions we are encouraged to be “at one with”… the world, and its peoples. The bridging and connecting aspects are so important for lots of folk. Hey, yes I do that too, and exchanges of smiles…I am guessing that is my idealistic side.
For a long time, I just kept on needing to say “yes “ to life. Finally learning when and where to say “no “.
Maybe those with overly rigid boundaries are not the ones to copy. So like so much in life it’s not black and white. The idea of clear boundaries can be great cos then we can know where we stand, and it’s not too waffling.
Though I have known people who are heavily into the keep it simple stupid rule. Der.
All I know is that for me the ground, the fences, houses and doors and boundaries and people kept changing. So that shaped me. There were also a lot of locks and high walls. Believe me, it was obvious from a young age that everyone was different. I saw more than most. Trying to turn those experiences into riches, instead of poverty.
