You are all so wonderful and open to sharing...
Have their been any strategies in managing fear (any type of fear from simple nerves through to phobias and anxiety), which has worked for you?

The best thing my friend got me to do was write some poetry and go through a relaxation CD. Now I normally hate those things but the supportive way she got me to do it I felt much more calm afterward. I even copied the relaxation CD onto my own blank CD so I could do it in my own space and time.
The thing witht he relaxation CD is to do as much as you feel able to. My CD went for 1hr 4mins. That was too much. The first two tracks were enough. Depends on the individual person to what amount is best.

I think with challenging those fears its hard to shift the 'gut' feelings that remain.. the fear is like its on automatic pilot no matter what the rational brain says... im not sure i can explain it better than that.
hi all 🙂

i have a fear of being in public, my way of dealing with it is to focus on the ground, it makes me feel as though i am the only person. another thing is when i am really anxious, don't go to sleep early of a night, instead try to really tired your self out so you don't wake in the middle of the night with a panic attack.

@NikNik for me, medication has been the only thing which has had any great impact - and unfortunately - the efficacy of this diminishes over time
