@Former-Memberhow are you getting on? I hope you have a great weekend. A director of a mental institution once said in a 'Journey to Recovery' forum that i attended ..
" Life is a cycle..nothing in life is forever. If it rains eventually it will stop. After winter will come spring. We were once children but now we are old. We may be sick but at times we are better. We worry but later will be relieved.."
I have learnt from that..to let go of my children bit by bit...praying and asking for guidance on their behalf from God...and not being too hard on my maternal instinct. My mom in law used to say...."Need you be too tough on them? Weren't you at their age before? Have you not been tested? But did you come through it all? Do you have lessons learned?...".
Then only it struck me that i had to be on my own since 12! I believe... we have so much concern and being protective due to our past experiences. But perhaps it is time to let go. The kids are adults now and its time they face their own challenges. We are only here to guide them..more like a friend than a parent, and pray for their wellbeing. xx.
