Re: Christian Chat

@DownMoreThanUp I have always loved reading the Bible and have often chosen it over a new novel. I love the Psalms and the Gospels (of course!).

I have read the Bible through a couple of times, studied different books. It's not the Bible reading I struggle with it's the motivation to read.

Re: Christian Chat

@Moose123 is that the Hallow app? I use Bible Promises, Bible Chat and YouVersion. I have a daily verse with Bible Chat and YouVersion I use for short reading plans, like up to 7 days.

So far I've been keeping on track with Bible Chat which is good!

Re: Christian Chat

@REDLINEZ750 yeah the guilt is the worst, especially if you've been brought up in an environment that focuses on how you're a sinner. I am blessed that my church experience has always been positive. My Nana was the epitome of a Christian woman, she taught me more than any minister or pastor could have. Mum goes to a Uniting church that is very traditional and I was happy there until I went to my first Pentecostal church and was baptised into the Holy Spirit there. The last church I went to was also Pentecostal. I think the thing with the more charismatic churches is that if they are smaller they seem to be more authentic. Churches like HillSong and Riverview (a large church here in Perth) seem to have negative things attached to them.

Re: Christian Chat

@Bessie78 welcome to the chat! @avant-garde writes beautiful poetry, as does @DownMoreThanUp. We are blessed to have them share their work.

Happy Sabbath! I hope everyone has a blessed day. I listened to a service online this morning and did some bible listening.

Bessie, I'll add you and your mum to my prayers. My dad is also in palliative care.

God bless you 🙏❤️

Re: Christian Chat

@ENKELI Yes i fully agree The Psalms in particular are awesome. For they opened my eyes to a personal relationship with God as something beautiful and fulfilling, and what our Creator is really after when it comes to His Children Down here, as it sure is.👋

This Jesus made sure FOREVER!This Jesus made sure FOREVER!All of us are God's Beloved through JesusAll of us are God's Beloved through Jesus

Re: Christian Chat

@Appleblossom like you, I have often struggled with the "God is good" sentiment, especially when He is silent while you are needing Him.

While we know that God IS good, sometimes it is the last thing we want to hear.

I'm glad your experiences didn't change your mind about God, my dad was very anti God for so long after the experiences he had with the Catholic church and school he attended. Thankfully he's accepted God again and I am praying that he gives his life to Jesus before he dies. He's in palliative care with no quality of life and I keep encouraging him to read his Bible.

I hope the week ahead is good to you 🙂

Re: Christian Chat

@REDLINEZ750 hey hon, liturgical means public worship. For example in the Catholic church saying the Rosary, lighting a candle and other rituals are considered liturgical.

I can not do that I want to do for I always do that I do not want to do sounds like Romans 7:15

"I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do." NIV

Headache is better, thanks so much xo

Re: Christian Chat

@DownMoreThanUp hello and thanks, my headache has gone, yay!

I just love the Chosen. And I was just reading about the woman at the well too!

How are things in your little patch of the south today? The weather here in the 'Vegas (lol Midvegas)

is lovely so I am going to getting into my plants.

You have a wonderful gift of words my brother, I find myself going back and re-reading your posts and drinking in the words.

The same with @avant-garde and her poems. Just beautiful.
